Marie Trottier

Finding a therapist with whom you feel comfortable is an important process when you feel ready to seek help to improve your life or your relationships. I will provide a counselling environment that is warm, non-judgmental, and is highly effective.  I will help you to achieve your goals toward the life you desire.

I am a Registered Psychologist with a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology.  In my years of experience as a therapist I have worked with youth, adults and couples who are experiencing emotional challenges, relationship issues and personal struggles.  I treat people experiencing anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship issues, workplace stress and life transitions.   I will help you to navigate these challenges and will work with you to find ways to thrive more in line with your desires.

I recognize the value of positive psychology with a solution-oriented, and problem-solving approach.  I believe in helping clients to access their personal resources and wisdoms to achieve their goals.  I see therapy as a process to help people who feel stuck in their life journey, and to help them move through any barriers to experience fulfillment and growth. I will work with you to learn necessary skills that address cognitive and behavioural patterns that get in the way, and I will help you to manage your distressing emotions by implementing effective mind/body techniques.

I am trained and experienced in a number of evidence-based therapeutic tools, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, and Conflict Management.  My therapeutic style incorporates an integrated perspective that draws from CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Interpersonal Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy and other proven therapeutic approaches, and I help to blend these tools to meet the individual client needs.

I also have a special interest in counselling youth who are making critical decisions related to career developent. An important element in this is helping to create a career and educational pathway map or guide. For those more seasoned in their careers, but looking to change, I can work with you to explore your options and set a plant that fits with your life situation.

Sally Ho

My name is Sally and I’m a Registered Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. I have 14 years’ experience providing counselling and vocational services. I offer counselling services to adults experiencing a variety of personal challenges. I view therapy as a collaborative partnership where we work together to identify and implement effective solutions to overcome your challenges.

I have experience working with a wide range of issues including acute adjustment disorder, trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, complex pain, stress and self-regulation. I have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Solution Focused therapeutic modalities.

Recognizing every person is unique, I draw upon a variety of evidence-based therapy approaches in order to tailor the best treatment to each client’s needs.

Choosing a therapist that is the right fit is an important process.  Research shows that the quality of the therapeutic alliance between a therapist and a client is one of the strongest predictors of whether or not therapy is successful. I invite you to book a free 20-minutes telephone consultation where we can explore your struggles and determine whether my scope of practice and approach will work for you.

Ken Kwan

I have been practicing as a registered psychologist for nearly 12 years. Over this time I have developed a deep appreciation for ensuring others are always treated with kindness and integrity. I have experience working with adults affected by trauma or post-traumatic stress disorder, including First Responders, as well as treating adults affected by depression, anxiety, phobias, grief/loss, anger, or pain.

The main treatment modalities that I draw from include eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), prolonged exposure therapy (PE), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based interventions. I also have training and experience in projective treatment modalities such as sandplay therapy.

On a personal note, an item that I hope to one day cross off my “bucket-list” is to finally build one of the various project cars that I have dreamt of over the years. With it I would like to go with some of my favourite people on an epic road trip, spanning one or several continents, which would include visiting the coolest race tracks open to the public.

Wallace Dudley

It is not uncommon that people will encounter unplanned or unwanted life circumstances that become overwhelming.  Often, this happens suddenly, but sometimes through a gradual build up.  This can result in a sense of unraveling, disappointment, sadness, or of crushing fears. The causes of this are personal, but often develop out of accidents, injury, trauma, losses, bullying, harassment, loneliness, and so on.  I assist my clients to help bring a sense of stability and perspective to these situations, and to assist with healing and recovery.  My typical clients tend to be adults, or near adults, who can benefit from a safe place to work through the challenges they face.

I have learned that not all people benefit from the same therapeutic approaches.  I tend to begin therapy by fully listening, and trying to hear not only what are/were the circumstances causing the difficulties, but also to understand the full impact.  This provides a basis of understanding about what is needed, and informs decisions made together about how to help.  I often work from a cognitive behavioral perspective, and am trained in a variety of modalities in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, and depression.

I was trained at the masters and doctoral levels at the California School of Professional Psychology, with completion and first registration in the late 1990’s.  I have been practicing in Alberta since 2005, and previously in BC.  I became owner of Psychology Plus in 2018, after several years of practice in rehabilitation psychology, and disability psychology.  I have also worked consistently in private practice over the years and have worked in a variety of settings with youths and adults.
