Comprehensive Assessments:
Assessments provided to children, adolescents and adults, and they include practical recommendations for home and school

  • Psycho-educational (including giftedness, learning disabilities, cognitive impairments, and academic assessment)

Consultations:
Consultation can be provided to parents, families, or adults when they may be unsure if an assessment would be appropriate or beneficial. In addition, professional advice, strategies, and guidance as well as more information (on behavioural, emotional, or academic issues) can be provided through a more informal consultation session.

Educational planning: Guidance for children, adolescents and young adults on what strategies or academic programming may be best suited for his/her learning profile. In addition, development of and support for organization, test-taking, and study strategies is available.

Social skills support: One-on-one or small group sessions to support children and adolescents in their development of appropriate social skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills and intrapersonal skills.

Specialized training

  • ADOS: A standardized behavioural observation and coding measure for toddlers to adults that is used in the assessment and diagnosis of autism and pervasive developmental disorders.
  • ADI-R: A standardized interview and coding measure for children and adults that is useful for diagnosing autism, planning treatment and distinguishing autism from other developmental disorders.

About Me:

I live and work in Calgary, Alberta. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Lethbridge and my Master’s Degree and Ph.D in School and Applied Child Psychology at the University of Calgary. Throughout my education, I have had several opportunities to be engaged in research projects. This experience has resulted in presentations at conferences and publications in peer-reviewed journals. In addition, I am a sessional instructor at the University of Calgary and Athabasca University.

As part of my studies, I had opportunities to enhance my learning and training through practicum and experience at the Calgary Board of Education and the University of Calgary Applied Psychological and Educational Services. I also completed a one year internship with the Calgary Board of Education.

I worked for the Calgary Board of Education as a provisional psychologist in 2009-2010 and I registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists in 2010. Following my registration, I worked as a registered psychologist for the Calgary Board of Education in 2010-2011. I began work in private practice and joined Psychology Plus in the summer of 2011. Throughout my education, training, and work experience I have had the opportunity to work with individuals with a diverse array of strengths and areas of need and who have come from different family, culture, and school contexts/backgrounds.
